Wema Bank lift ban on international transaction on naira cards

Nigerian lender, Wema Bank, has lift ban on naira cards on international transaction. This means that with Naira cards, customers can do foreign transaction.

The Wema Bank in a letter addressed its customers on the lift on the suspension of international transaction done through the naira cards.

The bank on March 2022, joined other Nigerian banks to limit the international spending to naira card from $100 to $20 or $50.

In September, the bank subsequently said that the bank will no longer accept international transaction on naira cards, due to market realities of foreign exchange.

The Wema Bank on March, totally end foreign payment with Naira cards.

The bank also had a $500 monthly limit on international spending conducted through its naira card.

“You can now use your Naira cards, including Mastercard, ALAT Mastercard, and Visa, for international spending. For your international transactions, you can enjoy up to $500 per month,” the bank said in a notice.
