Two people have been arrested for forcibly initiating someone into a cult.

On Friday, November 19, men from the Ogun state police command arrested two suspected members of the Eiye cult group for forcibly initiating a student into their group.

The suspects, Owoseni Gbemisola and Ogunsola Ayo, were apprehended after a 21-year-old Olabisi Onabanjo University student (name withheld) reported to the Ago iwoye divisional headquarters that he was lured to Ijebu Igbo by one Yemi Justice aka JP under the guise of going for a job, but when he arrived, the said Yem


Following the report, SP Noah Adekanye, DPO Ago iwoye division, dispatched his detectives to track down the suspects and bring them to justice. The detectives set up intelligence surveillance for the suspects, and their efforts paid off when Owoseni Gbemisola was spotted in Ago Iwoye, where he was still threatening to return to the complainant, whether he liked it or not.

He was quickly apprehended by operatives who, unbeknownst to him, were lurking nearby. His arrest led to the arrest of his co-conspirator Ayo Ogunsola, who was tracked down and apprehended in their hideout, while Yemi Justice, who fled, is still being sought.

The state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, saying that the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the suspects to be immediately transferred to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation, with the goal of charging them in court as soon as possible.
