Green Energy International Ltd (GEIL), the operator of the Otakikpo Marginal Field, has donated a tiny barracks to the Nigeria Navy as part of its CSR initiative and to boost security in the oil-producing region.
While accepting the donation, Rear Admiral S.K Ibrahim, the outgoing Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Eastern Naval Command, was represented by Commodore SG Olubode Fazaz, the Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship Jubilee, who praised Green Energy International Limited (GEIL) for their continued focus on securing the area of operation in Andoni, stating that the mini barracks will provide more accommodation and facilities to the naval staff in the performance of their duties.
He went on to say that the Nigeria Navy will continue to provide adequate security to key national assets (CNA) in the Niger Delta in order to safeguard the region’s economic development for the benefit of its people and investors.
“This project will not only contribute favorably to the operational efficacy of the Naval Outpost Ikuru town, but will also raise the morale of the Outpost troops,” the FOC said, urging other companies in the area to follow GEIL’s lead.
Ibrahim expressed his joy at having made another beneficial influence on the Nigerian Navy.
