The White Paper on the #EndSARS Panel of Inquiry report has been released by the Lagos State Government.
According to the report, the state government has accepted 11 of the panel’s 32 recommendations, accepted six modifications, and rejected one.
14 of the recommendations, according to the state government, fall outside of the state’s jurisdiction and will be forwarded to the federal government for consideration.
The conclusion of the panel that nine people were shot dead at the tollgate is described by the state government as “assumptions and speculations.” Two military officers who refused to attend the panel have been recommended for disciplinary action by the state government.
However, the specifics of the recommendations have yet to be revealed.
The Nigerian Army and the Lagos state government were indicted in the killing of unarmed protesters and the subsequent cover-up of the incident at the Lekki Toll Road, according to a leaked version of the report.
