Nigerian evacuees from Ukraine have arrived in Abuja in large numbers.
This is according to a Twitter update from the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).
The passengers, numbering approximately 450 from Romania, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport’s private jet terminal at 7:10 a.m. (WAT) on a Max Air flight this morning at approximately 7.10 a.m.
They are largely students who fled Ukraine to Romania after Russia invaded the country in Eastern Europe.
They were met by government officials and are likely to undergo documentation before returning home and self-isolating in accordance with COVID-19 standards.
