Stonebwoy has responded to Shatta Wale’s claim that Ghanaian musicians assist Nigerian musicians but that Nigerians do not do the same for Ghanaian musicians.
Nigerian musicians, he claimed, have achieved many of the “greatest milestones in the entertainment sector” and are “placing Africa on the world map.”
He did add, however, that with great power comes great responsibility, and Nigerian musicians should bear the “responsibility of helping to forge a united African front by deliberately allowing music from other African nations that pollinate Nigerian music to flourish on Nigerian platforms on local and international levels.”
He stated that while his countryman Shatta Wale may not have tackled the problem correctly, his worry is real.
“The problem of our brother nation Nigeria not reciprocating the love and assistance it receives, especially from Ghana, is real and demands critical scrutiny,” Stonebwoy stated.
