Residents in Festac Phase 2 scream as the government demolishes their homes (photos/video).

On Sunday morning, Nov. 28, some Festac Phase 2 residents discovered their homes had been demolished.

This comes just one day after an article claimed that the Federal Housing Authority would soon begin demolishing buildings in Festac Town without permission.

Angel Nkiru, a Facebook user, used her page to post photos of houses that had been demolished.

She expressed herself as follows: “This morning, I received some bad news.

“I’m there, crying, because I have friends who own homes there.

“The FHA is demolishing the Festac phase 2 Abulado estate in Amuwo Odofin local government.

“They’ve been going since 5 a.m. See the lovely homes of Igbo people. The land is not approved, according to the FHA. It’s painful for me to see people’s homes being demolished.

“Ego umu igbo agwugo agwugo agwugo agwugo agwugo a My oga at Aspamda owns the first yellow building. I’m not going to mention his name because he’s well-known.”
