Pope Francis advises sisters to retaliate when harassed by ‘men of the Church’

When religious sisters are treated unfairly or “reduced to servitude” by men in the Church, Pope Francis has advised them to fight back.

On February 1, Francis declared in video message: “In the midst of the world’s crises, encourage all consecrated women to consider and choose what is best for their mission.

“I encourage them to resist when they are treated unfairly, even inside the Church; when they serve so much that they are reduced to servitude – sometimes by Church men.

Pope Francis also requested Catholics to pray for religious sisters and consecrated women in special way during the month of February.
