When religious sisters are treated unfairly or “reduced to servitude” by men in the Church, Pope Francis has advised them to fight back.
On February 1, Francis declared in a video message: “In the midst of the world’s crises, I encourage all consecrated women to consider and choose what is best for their mission.
“I encourage them to resist when they are treated unfairly, even inside the Church; when they serve so much that they are reduced to servitude – sometimes by Church men.
Pope Francis also requested Catholics to pray for religious sisters and consecrated women in a special way during the month of February.
