Police successfully repel an attack on the Mbieri police station.

Today, April 1, Imo state police officers repelled an attack on Mbieri police station purportedly carried out by suspected members of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra/ Eastern Security Network.

The hoodlums were alleged to have hurled improvised explosive devices into the station and fired sporadically before being overcome by the combat-ready police agents’ overwhelming firepower, causing them to flee in their car.

Only minor damage was done to a parked unserviceable vehicle and some windows owing to the action of the explosive, no lives were lost or injuries experienced by the operatives, and no arms/ ammo were hauled away as a result of the fierce exchange by the police.
