‘Please release Nnamdi Kanu,’ Bianca Ojukwu asks President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of late Nigerian Ambassador to Spain Odumegwu Jim Ojukwu, has begged with President Muhammadu Buhari to free Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Bianca Ojukwu, speaking at the 10th memorial anniversary of late Biafran leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu on Friday, November 26 in Owerri, encouraged President Muhammadu Buhari to accept the request for Kanu’s release made by several Igbo leaders during their recent visit to the State House, Abuja.

“Please release Nnamdi Kanu’

“Kanu’s release will further buttress President Buhari’s commitment to healing the wounds inflicted by the sense of marginalisation felt by the Igbo nation,” she said.

Ralph Uwazuruike, the founder of the Movement for the Actualization of a Sovereign State of Biafra, also expressed gratitude to Ojukwu for battling for the Igbo people.

He said, “This year’s memorial is a further reminder of who Ikemba Odimegwu Ojukwu was. Ojukwu was an great man who fought for the liberation of Ndigbo.”
