Nura Kazeem, a 22-year-old motorbike rider, was crushed to death at the Aseese, Ogun State end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while allegedly being hounded by some motorcycle riders’ union officials in the neighborhood over an N600 ticket when he drove into a commercial bus and perished.
Kazeem was prepared to fly to his hometown in the North with his brothers when he was approached by one of the union members, simply known as Ayomo, about purchasing a day ticket.
The victim was alleged to have declined to purchase the ticket because he was unemployed and planning to travel.
Ayomo and other union officials were allegedly pursuing him when he allegedly slammed into a white Mazda bus and died on the spot.
The state police leadership has not yet responded to this development.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to calm inflamed nerves, as some Hausa community members believe Nura’s death could have been avoided.
