On Sunday, 15 persons have reportedly been burnt dead as a result of an exploded Petro tanker at Ore, Odigbo local government area, Ondo State.
According to report, a source said the explosion was as a sequel to a spark that came from a phone held by one of the people who went to scoop fuel from the linking tank.
The source, who gave her name as Nireti, disclosed that the incident happened along Showboy Road, lying next to a filling station in Ore.
Narrating what happened before the tank explosion, she said the Petro tanker lost controll and spilled it content on the ground which people who were close by, rushed to scoop fuel from it.
The source who is also a trader disclosed that 15 persons have died in the BLEVE, three children and a pregnant woman who wanted to buy the fuel.
She said ;”I was in my shop when I heard the tanker fall. The rain was also falling. People were taking fuel when fire started after a spark from a phone.
“Three children died, and we have counted over 15 bodies. A pregnant woman who wanted to buy the fuel also died. The money is still with her.”
