Man confesses the killing of vanguard correspondent, Tordue Salem

A man identified as Itoro clement has confessed that he killed the missing journalist, Tordue Salem on hit-and-run car accident.

It was recalled that the journalist, Tordue Salem got missing on October 13 and was found dead on Thursday evening in Abuja.

Force PRO, Frank Mba paraded the suspected Clement at the premises of the intelligence respond team(IRT) in Abuja.

He said the suspected Clement was arrested after an investigation was carried out by the force intelligence bureau.

Mba said Mr Clement was riding a Toyota Camry 2014 model with plate number BWR 243 BK at about 10:00pm on the night of October 13th 2021, where he hit Salem and ran away.

During the interrogation, the suspected Clement said;“I thought he was an armed robber that I knocked down until the following day when I saw a smashed phone on my windscreen. The phone was not working again so I threw it away.”

When asked why he ran away after he hit Salem, he claimed that the area where he hit Salem was a dangerous place where criminal activities always occur.

” The place I knocked this person down, is a criminal place everybody knows that place,” he added
