
Two suspects were detained by members of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for allegedly removing crash barriers from the sides of an overhead bridge at the Lagos State Trade Fair.
The suspects, Abdullateef Abdulrahim (22) and Aliyu Lawan (16), were apprehended at Abule Oshun, Badagry Expressway, at around 3 in the morning on Friday, July 15. There was a stack of crash barriers that had already been cut.
Around three in the morning, Abdulrahim was caught with a hacksaw but was unable to explain its purpose.
In response to information about crime in the vicinity, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, the commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), sent one of the tactical squads to the scene.
A hacksaw and many piles of cut crash barriers were discovered from the suspects.
