In a campaign ad for the US Senate, a contender for the position smokes marijuana (video)

Gary Chambers, candidate for seat in the United States Senate from Louisiana, has released new video declaring his candidacy.

Chambers is seen smoking marijuana in an outdoor leather armchair in video posted to his YouTube page on Tuesday, January 18.

In the new video, Chambers says that someone gets arrested for marijuana possession every 37 seconds.

“State and local cops have detained an estimated 7.3 million Americans for violating marijuana laws since 2010, accounting for more than half of all narcotics arrests.”

He went on to say, “Black individuals are four times more likely than white people to be arrested for marijuana offenses. Every year, states waste 3.7 billion dollars enforcing marijuana laws. The majority of those arrested by police aren’t dealers, but rather persons in possession of little amounts of marijuana. I’m the same way.”
