Gunmen kidnap the principal, vice principal, and three teachers in Ondo State

On Thursday afternoon, November 25, suspected gunmen seized Joshua Adeyemi, the principal of Auga Community Grammar School in Ondo state, his Vice, lfedayo Yesufu, and three other teachers along Auga-Ise road in Akoko North-East council area of the state.

 

Oloyede Bukola, Adagunodo Funmilayo, and Blessing Okeke are the three abducted teachers.

 

The victims were reportedly traveling in a blue Toyota Corolla automobile owned by the school principal along the Auga-Ise route in Akoko North East council area of the state when they were ambushed and taken into the deep woodland by the abductors.

Blessing Okeke, one of the victims, was released after the captors found she was pregnant. Blessing described the situation as follows: “They were waylaid while heading from the school back home in the Principal vehicle.” She went on to say that they travelled for hours through dense wilderness before being freed once their kidnappers discovered she was pregnant.

 

Oladutoye Akinwan, the Divisional Police Officer for Ikare division, confirmed the event and said investigators have been dispatched to search the forest for the victims. He also stated that the vehicle in which the victims were riding prior to their abduction had been recovered from the location where the kidnappers had abandoned it.
