Unknown gunmen attacked the Umuguma Divisional Police Headquarters in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State in the early hours of Saturday, March 19. Two police officers were slain.
According to accounts, the gunmen blocked all roads going into and out of the station division, including one near to the local government headquarters, before attacking the station with IEDs.
They waited to attack officers who rushed out for safety after burning the station on fire.
Ifeanyi and Iyke, two police officers, were unlucky enough to run into a hail of gunshots.
