FFK is back in the EFCC’s custody for alleged fraud.

On Tuesday, November 30, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Femi Fani-Kayode, the former Minister of Aviation, on fraud charges.

Shortly after his trial for alleged money laundering at the Federal high court in Lagos was adjourned until January 2022, FFK was taken to the EFCC office. The former Minister was in court as part of his ongoing trial for allegedly defrauding the government of N4.6 billion.

On November 23, FFK was questioned by the EFCC’s Lagos zonal command over allegations of forgery. He came out to confirm that he had been interrogated by EFCC agents, but that he had been granted bail.

Due to the absence of Ferdinand Orbih, counsel for the first defendant, Nenadi Usman, the case against him could not continue today.

EFCC investigators approached FFK shortly after the case was adjourned and escorted him to their office for further questioning.
