Former Manchester City star, Benjamin Mendy has gone emotional as court declared him not guilty of rape charges that were laid on him.

Similarly, he was also charged for attempting to rape a 29 years old woman, who alleged that he had molested her two years earlier at his home.

Mendy denied both charges and was not found guilty by the jury of six men and six women which took two and a half year to process.

“Mendy weeps as the verdicts which declared his innocence, were read out by the jury foreman following a three-week trial and Chester Crown Court. Judge Steven Everett said: “Mr Mendy can be discharged from the dock.”

It was also reported that Benjamin Mendy’s contract with Manchester City will expire this month. When asked if he is still going to play football, Mendy didn’t respond.
