Dumebi Kachikwu won ADC presidential ticket

The African Democratic Congress’s presidential ticket has been won by Dumebi Kachikwu, the founder of Roots Television and younger brother of former Minister of Petroleum Ibe Kachikwu (ADC).

 

To secure the ticket, he defeated Kingsley Moghalu, a previous presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) and former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, as well as Chukwuka Monye.

 

He received 977 votes, while his nearest rival, Moghalu, received 589 votes. With 339 votes, Monye finished in third.
