Andrew Nice Omininikoron, an arrested BRT driver, was caught delivering a statement that contradicts his prior statements regarding what occurred to Oluwabamise Toyosi Ayanwole.
Andrew stated in a statement aired on Monday, March 7, that he picked up 22-year-old Bamise at Chevron Lekki and then three other young males.
During the ride, he claimed the men showed him a weapon and told him to park on Carter Bridge.
They then descended, pulling Bamise along behind them.
He said that he was too terrified to help and that he couldn’t do much.
When questioned why he didn’t report the incident right away, he couldn’t come up with a cogent response.
Now, a video has surfaced of Andrew’s first interview after his incarceration.
He made no mention of three armed men in it.
In the footage, he claims Bamise threw herself off the moving bus.
He went on to say that her actions were a result of his “dirty conduct.”
Andrew stated, ” “She pushed open the rear door and walked out.
“Everything was videotaped as she cried out for rescue.
“I’m terrified… because of the dirty actions I’ve committed.”
Toyosi Ayanwole, 22, was found dead after boarding a BRT vehicle that was driven by Omininikoron.
Bamise had sent videos and audio messages to friends, expressing concern about her safety while riding home in Andrew’s state-owned bus.
