Students from several secondary schools in Zamfara were seen eagerly waiting for President Buhari to arrive in the state before he was forced to reschedule his visit due to bad weather.
Governor Bello Matawalle confirmed this on Thursday, January 27, claiming the President’s visit had to be postponed owing to poor visibility. The President was supposed to take off from Sokoto onboard a helicopter.
“Mr President has spoken with me and has requested that I send his apologies to the fine people of the state.” Mr President stated he would reschedule his visit to the state for next week, and that the new date will be conveyed to us in due time,” Matawalle added.
“Some of the security leaders are currently in Katsina, but due to the same reason, they are unable to go to Zamfara. As a result, we sincerely apologize to the good people of the state for the postponement due to circumstances beyond our control. We appreciate Mr. President’s dedication to the state.”
