At the Ikoyi Link Bridge, a SWAT squad is accused of extorting N550,000 from a civilian at gunpoint.

The SWAT team occupying the decommissioned FSARS base in Adeniji has been accused of harassing and extorting residents in the same way as SARS officials did.

Segun Awosanya alias Segalink, an activist, made this public.

He claims that the SWAT force, which was formed to replace SARS following the End SARS rallies, has begun harassing citizens as well.

According to Segalink, a citizen was apprehended by members of a SWAT squad led by an officer named Lekan at the Lekki Ikoyi Link Bridge last night, Jan. 25, and they allegedly extorted N550K from him at gunpoint. According to Segalink, he interfered and the money was seized, and the police involved are likely to report to the State Police Command’s CP’s office.
“I’m not sure why any SWAT squad would want to do this.”
