Following the expiration of Antonio Rudiger’s contract at Chelsea, Real Madrid has confirmed his acquisition on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old German defender is said to have agreed to a four-year contract at the Bernabeu, which will run until the summer of 2026. His weekly wage with the LaLiga side will be in the neighborhood of £315,000.
He’ll also get a signing-on bonus, which will boost his pay dramatically.
According to sources close to the negotiations, Rudiger’s release clause at Real Madrid will be €400 million (£342 million).
‘I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be joining Real Madrid,’ the German remarked. I’m really looking forward to all of the challenges ahead of me, and I can’t wait to play my first game for such a big club.’
Rudiger will be introduced as a Real Madrid player at 12 p.m. on Monday, June 20.
