An arrest has been made for a man who used social media to entice women to hotels where he would sleep with them and rob them.

Usama Tijani, a 31-year-old man from Katsina State, was arrested for reportedly enticing multiple ladies to hotels to have sex with them and rob them of their property.

 

The culprit, who lives in Dorayi Quarters in Kano State’s Gwale LGA, was apprehended after a series of accusations from Katsina women.

 

They claimed that the man was tricking young girls he met on social networking platforms by inviting them to hotels across the country, where he would sleep with them before escaping with their phones, money, and other valuables.

Superintendent of Police, SP Isah Gambo, who presented the suspect to the media, said the suspect met his doom when he lured one of the girls, a Katsina native, to a hotel in Kano with the promise of paying her N50k, but after spending the night with her, fled the hotel early the next morning while she was taking her bath.

 

“The suspect seized the lady’s phone, money, and other items,” Gambo said. Using the victim’s stolen phones at various intervals, he continued his unlawful dealings by duping three of her friends and luring them into hotels in Zaria, Kaduna State, using the same method. He also took their cellphones, money, and other things.

“He confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court as soon as the inquiry is finished,” said SP Isah.
