Adriano, a Brazilian football legend, supposedly once consoled himself after a failed transfer by spending £13,000 on 18 prostitutes.
After leaving Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense the previous year, the 40-year-old former Inter Milan attacker saw a deal to French club Le Havre fall through in 2015.
The Ligue 2 club had offered the 48-cap Brazil international a contract at Stade Oceane, and Adriano had accepted.
However, the scheduled swap was called off at the last minute due to a botched takeover at Le Havre.
According to the Brazilian newspaper Extra, the 2004 Copa America champion consoled himself by visiting a brothel.
They claim Adriano travelled from France to Rio de Janeiro and spent £13,000 on 18 sex workers.
He took the women to a private party at Motel Vip’s, where he spent a further £8,600 on a binge that lasted until the early hours of the morning.
The former Corinthians center-forward retired in 2016 after a brief stay with Miami United, where he scored once in his lone appearance.
