After calling it quits at their reception site due to the wife’s choice of song, a couple has established a new record for the shortest marriage.
Following a disagreement during their wedding celebrations in Baghdad, the groom divorced his wife.
According to accounts, the woman requested Lamis Kan’s Syrian song Mesaytara.
I am dominant or I will control you, as the title implies.
“I am domineering; you will be dominated under my harsh commands, I will drive you insane if you stare at other girls on the street,” the song begins.
“Yes, I’m the boss, and you’re my sugar.”
You’ll walk under my authority as long as you’re with me.”
The bride was said to be dancing to the song and having a good time at her wedding, but the groom’s family was not impressed, resulting in a major feud between the two families.
This isn’t the first time something like this has occurred.
Last year, the song prompted another another divorce in Jordan.
