ABSU fires a lecturer over a sex-for-grades scandal.

Michael Ukaegbu, a senior lecturer and former Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Abia State University, Uturu, has been fired as a result of his alleged involvement in a sex-for-grades scandal.

 

The sacking of Ukaegbu was announced in a communique issued following the 148th regular and resumed meetings of the university’s Governing Council, which were held on Thursday, December 16th and 20th, 2021, respectively, under the chairmanship of the Pro-Chancellor, Adolphus Wabara.

 

Acho Elendu, the university Registrar, also revealed that the Council ratified the dismissal of another, Mr Leonard Chukwuma, for alleged admission fraud and racketeering.
