
Aliu Oladeji, 29, has been detained in a detention center by Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly killing a thief.
The defendant’s plea was not accepted by Magistrate I. O. Osho, who ordered that he be kept in the Abolongo Custodial Centre in Oyo town for legal counsel.
Oladeji was charged with conspiracy and murder in court, and the prosecutor, Inspector Foluke Adedosu, told the court that he conspired with others in the neighborhood to commit the crime.
It was revealed that on March 4, about 2.30 a.m., he and others beat one Sodiq to death.
The offense is against Section 316 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000, and it is penalized under Sections 319 and 324.
The matter was continued until July 4 for mention by Magistrate Osho, who ordered that he be remanded in a detention center on Wednesday, April 13.
